.Pennine Cruisers, is a small a family run company based in Skipton, North Yorkshire; “Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales,” and situated on the beautiful Leeds and Liverpool canal. Ian (Father) has over 45 years’ experience, and Zoe (Daughter) has 20 years’ experience in the industry so there is not a ripple on this stretch of waterway that they do not know.

Pennine Cruisers provides everything that is needed and whether you are an absolute beginner, or an experienced boater you will find it at Pennine Cruisers.

Starting with their 30 minute accompanied canal trips. We have two 12 passenger, open trip boats called Leo & Sam.

Pennine Cruisers also have 8 Day Hire Boats for which no previous experience is required. Following your boat handling instruction, you will be able to head off on your day out with total confidence.

Our custom built skippered trip boat offers a really unique boating experience. “Tom” can accomodate everything from a 1hr boat trip to a full days experience package where you spend a full day sailing with one of our qualified skippers. We can also offer exclusive hires for 2/3/4hr trips, private parties, aswel as a meeting / small function room.

Here at Pennine Cruisers we cater for everyone, so if you own a boat yourself we can also offer you a wide selection of services, everything from a bottle of gas or bag of coal through to a new build narrow boat.

This was our first time and we were given clear and detailed instructions for more than 20 minutes. The first half an hour was a little difficult and then we got comfortable. We were also given a few set of keys and instructions to open the locks. The boat also has a seating area, a mini kitchen with hob, toilet. Overall a nice experience !

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Last week we had a 4 night hire of Cray. We have used Pennine Cruisers several times over the years, the service always first class. A minor issue with the boat had the engineers out to sort within a short time and all was resolved. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, sadly for the next two years (at least) they will no longer be hiring out holiday boats, instead concentrating on the day boats (due to issues out of their control - see their webpage for details). We hope to return when they do restart holiday boats.

The barge has everything you need to cruise and live in for a week. Special mention to Zoe who was very lovely and helpful in telling us the best direction to head first. Thanks a lot Zoe =) Also Phil was very professional and helpful in getting us accustomed to the boat and its bits and bobs. Fully recommended ☆☆☆☆☆

Boats were clean and well maintained. We were given tips of where to cruise to, timings, pubs etc. We’ve hired from different places before, but this was the best by far. Highly recommend Pennine Cruisers.
