Pre-bookable Skippered trips on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal

Tom has a large open plan seating area with solid oak tables and comfy chairs, the table configuration can be changed to suit your needs, offering tables for 2 / 4 people to one large table down the centre. The versatility of the tables & chairs means that Tom is ideal for a variety of gatherings whether that be for business or pleasure.

The boat also has toilet compartment with modern facilities as well as a full kitchen including fridge, oven/hob/grill, water boiler, full selection of crockery. During exclusive hire you are welcome to use the kitchen for self-catering purposes, or we have teamed up with a couple of local providers so we can also offer catering packages.

Tom is available for exclusive hire for groups of up to 12 people.

You hire the boat for the prices listed below; it is not priced per head.

For the prices below the boat is sailed by one of our qualified skippers, up to 2 people at a time from your party may join the skipper on deck to have a short lesson in boat handling skills and to have a go at steering.

As part of your experience package your party will be responsible for opening and closing the swing bridges, with advice and guidance from your skipper. If you would prefer to pay for a person to come along and do the bridges for you then this is available at an additional cost of £20 per hour.

Private hire boating experience for up to

3hr £300 / 4hr £400 / 5hr £500 / 6hr £550

When not pre-booked for private hire Tom will be offering 1hr boat trips to the general public. These are charged at £10 per person and can be booked by calling 01756 795478 or by popping into the shop at BD231LH.

This was our first time and we were given clear and detailed instructions for more than 20 minutes. The first half an hour was a little difficult and then we got comfortable. We were also given a few set of keys and instructions to open the locks. The boat also has a seating area, a mini kitchen with hob, toilet. Overall a nice experience !

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Last week we had a 4 night hire of Cray. We have used Pennine Cruisers several times over the years, the service always first class. A minor issue with the boat had the engineers out to sort within a short time and all was resolved. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, sadly for the next two years (at least) they will no longer be hiring out holiday boats, instead concentrating on the day boats (due to issues out of their control - see their webpage for details). We hope to return when they do restart holiday boats.

The barge has everything you need to cruise and live in for a week. Special mention to Zoe who was very lovely and helpful in telling us the best direction to head first. Thanks a lot Zoe =) Also Phil was very professional and helpful in getting us accustomed to the boat and its bits and bobs. Fully recommended ☆☆☆☆☆

Boats were clean and well maintained. We were given tips of where to cruise to, timings, pubs etc. We’ve hired from different places before, but this was the best by far. Highly recommend Pennine Cruisers.
